Kershaw County Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Multiple Charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct
November 13, 2024
Anthonette Deangelo Hammond pled guilty on Oct. 7 to four counts of criminal sexual conduct first degree, two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor third degree, and disseminating obscene material to a minor. The Honorable Robert E. Hood sentenced Hammond to 20 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
During the summer of 2011, Hammond sexually assaulted a 6-year-old on three separate occasions in Kershaw County and showed her pornographic videos when he was left alone with her.
In a separate case, the defendant sexually assaulted three girls during the summer of 2015 while he was visiting another residence. The girls reported that they were awakened by Hammond fondling them. One of the victims indicated that Hammond sexually assaulted her while at the house.
All of the victims disclosed the sexual abuse and assaults in the spring and summer of 2022. Hammond was scheduled for trial during the week of Oct. 7 but instead entered a guilty plea to all the charges before his case was called to trial. In addition to serving his prison sentence, Hammond will be placed on the SC Sex Offender Registry.
The Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, represented by Deputy Solicitor Curtis Pauling and Assistant Solicitor Anna Browder, prosecuted the case.
