Man Convicted of DUI
November 18, 2019
Wednesday, November 13, 2019, a Richland County jury found Jeremy Pradia guilty of driving under the influence (DUI). This is the defendant’s second DUI conviction.
The jury heard that on the night of May 13, 2017, the defendant was pulled over for speeding and swerving on I-126. The defendant had an open jar of whisky in his vehicle and smelled strongly of alcohol; he also exhibited multiple clues of impairment on standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant admitted to the arresting officer that he had been drinking, but was not forthcoming about how long he had been drinking and changed his story about how much he had to drink. When the defendant was administered a breath alcohol test, his blood alcohol concentration registered at 0.11%.
Assistant Solicitors Jacqueline Li and Harrison Pratt represented the State. The Honorable Courtney Clyburn-Pope presided.
