March 19, 2025
On March 17, Christopher Lee Miller, 33, pled guilty to domestic violence first-degree and kidnapping. The Honorable Milton G. Kimpson sentenced him to 10 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) responded to a 911 call on June 21, 2024, from the victim, who reported being assaulted by her then-boyfriend, Miller, at the QuikTrip on Two Notch Road. Upon arrival, the victim told deputies that she and Miller had engaged in a verbal altercation.
Surveillance footage from the QuikTrip parking lot captured Miller striking the victim with his car and forcing her into his vehicle. The victim stated that Miller attempted to take her phone several times while in the car. She also reported to law enforcement that he punched her in the stomach multiple times and threatened to kill her when they arrived at their shared residence.
Law enforcement apprehended Miller less than a month later.
RCSD Inv. David Cowan led the investigation, while Assistant Solicitor Nick Fowler represented the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office in prosecuting the case.
